Vic: Melbourne storm damage estimated at $75m
The powerful storm which hit Melbourne on Wednesday has left a damage bill of at least
$75 millione.
While the damage bill ranks the storm the most expensive to hit Melbourne in 30 years,
it's well below the clean-up costs of the Sydney hailstorm in April 1999, which caused
$1.75 billion in damage.
An Insurance Council of Australia spokeswoman says this week's storm was well within
the capacities of insurance companies to deal with.
