Monster.com Unveils Monster for iPad Application for Always-On Job Search Capabilities
Type: News

To reach and connect prospective employers with job seekers in a mobile, always-on way, Monster.com, a job matching engine and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc., announced it is making available an iPad application for job hunting. The free iPad app, designed specifically for job seekers, is available today via the Apple App Store.

The Company said similar to the existing iPhone application, the Monster for iPad application was developed to complement the user experience on the Monster.com Web site itself. It is fully integrated with a user's Monster account, giving mobile access to their stored resumes, cover letters, apply histories, etc., creating a seamless job search experience. Job seekers are able to leverage their account information via the Monster for iPad application to:
-Search for jobs using built-in GPS for jobs nearest seekers;

-Access and manage saved jobs;

-Save jobs to review later;

-Apply for jobs;

-View application history; and

-View resumes and edit cover letters.

According to a release, the Monster for iPad app builds on Monster's mobile strategy - which already includes an iPhone application and a mobile-optimized version of Monster.com - to meet the emerging needs of mobile seekers. In the five months since Monster unveiled the iPhone application, seekers have conducted 1.5M job searches, viewed 3.1M jobs and applied for over 200,000 jobs. Similarly, the Monster for iPad application is ideally suited to this same group of Monster job seekers who flock to their favorite mobile devices to hunt for their next career. This is especially true for discrete seekers- the highest usage of Monster's website is during normal business hours; the Monster applications for both the iPhone and the iPad enables those discrete seekers to quietly search and apply for jobs during business hours.

"At Monster, our goal is to enable seekers to uncover their right career opportunities that will ultimately improve their lives. Just as we've done with the iPhone application, we hope to do the very same thing with the iPad application - giving seekers a slew of options to access our database to find their perfect job, as soon as it becomes available," said Vasu Nagalingam, senior product director at Monster Worldwide. "More and more users are adopting mobile and portable devices as their primary means of accessing the Internet - Morgan Stanley predicts Smartphone shipments to eclipse PC shipments by mid 2012. By providing access to our 6Sense job search engine job search engine via the mobile engagement channel, Monster is committed to providing all the tools necessary for job seekers to reach their potential."

In addition to the benefits seekers will reap from using Monster's mobile applications, the Company noted that this move is also a true value-add for Monster customers whose job postings on Monster are now accessible on the mobile engagement channel. As more users migrate to mobile devices, Monster customers will continue to benefit with increased exposure to their job openings as Monster adapts its approach to meet the changing behavior in job seekers.

Monster Worldwide, Inc., parent company of Monster, a global online employment solution for more than a decade, strives to inspire people to improve their lives.
