Jack Black claims 'Tropic Thunder' isn't offensive - because it makes fun of everyone. The controversial new movie has received much criticism - in particular for casting Robert Downey Jr as an actor who has his skin darkened to portray an African-American soldier - but the 'Kung Fu Panda' star feels the attacks it has received are unwarranted.

Speaking at the UK premiere of the movie in London on Tuesday, Jack said: "I knew that we were taking some risks but now I think it is just a really funny movie and we offended everyone so no-one should be offended. It makes fun of the whole world. I think we were pretty equal opportunity. I just hope the audiences will cut us some slack."I thought, if anything, Robert would get the heat mostly because what he does seems to be the most sensitive taboo. You're not supposed to portray characters of that particular tone. I guess you never know where sensitivity will crop up." 'Iron Man' star Downey Jr, who also attended the premiere, admitted he expected the film to upset some people. He said: "You never know who's going to get offended and why but some things by their nature are meant to be offensive."Black and Downey Jr's co-star Ben Stiller also walked the red carpet and stopped to sign autographs and chat to fans.
